Looking forward and things to be Thankful for...

It's November. A month of transition for this household. The grueling campaign has come to an end - and I will be thankfull for our landslide victory this year. But even as that significant event passes, new events emerge.

Kitty is entering a new phase of her career. News on that later. Nora started school and ballet. Mary had another successful soccer season. Summer came and went. The pool closed. The leaves are falling. A new sewer connection (ouch) and a new patio at home. No new cars this year. The holidays have started.

Halloween was a blast. Cinderella (Mary) and Tinkerbell (Nora) were cute and they had a major haul of candy. We did their costumes the old fashioned way - we bought them. But they did look gorgeous.

Saturday was the Thanksgiving Day parade downtown. Friends gathered - Mary B. it was a mini- St. Patrick's Day gathering - and a loooong parade. The weather was nice. Looking forward to a new year and all the excitement it will bring. Looking forward to visiting Boston and Phoenix at Christmastime. Looking forward to relaxing a little and a year without a campaign. Looking forward to our visitors for Thanksgiving - Noni, Papa, Nick, Julie, Charlie, Bob, Sandie, David, Meridith, David and Jackson!

Nora and Mamie at the Secretary's pool, August 2006. They got so comfortable in the water and with their floatation devices that they were essentially on their own in the water. Of course we were nearby, but these little girls really love the water and liked playing together out there. Thanks Gordon for the pictures!
